Halloween Is Done

Halloween is over with and I think it went well. Michaela was a tiger, Lindsey was a skelton, but Adela would not dress up. They all got lots of candy, which of course will be staring at me. Adela still went with them and at one point her and my huband kept walking around the subdivsion. Every time Jason, my husband, suggested they start going home, she would start to get upset. So he just kept going until they were in front of our house. She was happy to see me and show me her candy, she forgot she was no longer trick or treatin'. the dog in the picture is ours, her name is Sidney.

Opps

Just looked at my last posting. Yikes, the layout of the posting did not work at all. Another lesson learned about placement of pictures.

I'm A Scraplifter

In the begining of my scrapbooking hobby, my pages were more simple. I am hoping as I show you more of my pages, you will see that they have become more interesting as time goes by. I consider myself a scraplifter, I look through magazines and books for ideas and help. Usually none of my pages are my own true design. they will not be exactly like the pros, but I try to be close to it. These are our honeymoon pages. This is our room at the lamplighter Inn. It was so quaint. The middle picture has a table and a cute pink lamp. That was where I wrote some postcards to our families members. I loved this room. I felt like I was traveling back in time.

This was at the Mac Woods Dune Rides. It is like a roller coaster. It takes you all over the sanddunes on Lake Michigan. The curvy lines under the title are for the swirling sand on the dunes. It was a little chilly there and I wore shorts. Not the smartest thing I did.

This page is two postcards regarding the sand dunes and the legend of Sleepy Bear Sand Dunes. Here it is: Years ago, a Mother Bear and her two cubs fled a Wisconsin forest fire by swimming across the blue waters of Lake Michigan. Wearily the Mother Bear reached Michigan's great sand bluffs, but the exhausted cubs disappeared beneath the water before reaching shore. Mother Bear climbed to the top of the dunes to await her cubs. Grief-stricken and spent, the Mother Bear fell into a deep sleep. The Great Spirit Manitau took pity and raised her two cubs as two beautiful gem-like islands, forested with green and edged with golden sand. Today as the wind, the rain and the snow sweeps over Mother Bear and the sun warms her, she keeps her lonely vigil. The spirit of her cubs lives on forever in the beautiful Manitou Islands. This beautiful Chippewa Indian Legend has been preserved through the generations. Now the little squares around the pages are pictures of sand I did not want, that I had punched out. Sorry you probably cannot tell. Someday, I will be able to get a bigger scanner or take them to Kinkos.

Happy Halloween!!

I took these pictures! I can't believe how nice they turned out. These pumpkins were in our living room by our front window. I happened to look out the window this morning and all these leaves were in our front yard under our tree and an idea came to me. This is how it turned out. My husband joked about me being artsy.
I am impressed with my self. Yeah me!!
Hope you all get lots of candy!

"Raising a kid is part joy and part guerilla warfare"

Ed Asner said that and it is so true. Two days ago I went to the grocery store with my two younger children. Adela the 2 year old likes to run up and down the aisle and roll around on the floor. There have been a few shoppers who have stared and even commented on my children. I do not look forward to going shopping with her. Well now she not only runs in the aisle, she now runs into different departments in the store. I had to chase her twice. She cried when I was putting her in the cart and I am sure people were staring. For the rest of that trip she had to stay in her cart. I had to go back today. This time my mother-in-law came over to watch the kids. Hopefully she grows out of that horrible habit.

There Are Still Decent People

Well, yesterday our chimney was repaired. Quality Masonry came out and cleaned it very good. They were at it for a long time. They said that Chimney Cricket never really did their job. Of course they did not, they never brought those long wire brushes inside the house. But, there was a hole and some cracks. Quality Masonry could not do it, because they did not have the right tool. But recommended a guy who was small enough to fix in the chimney smoke chamber. He was from DW Brick and Chimney. He did patch my chimney. They both said it did not need rebuilding like the second girl, after Chimney Cricket, said. The economy is bad and they want to get more money. They both basically said we will get rich, but not off of you. It was so refreshing to see honest men. This Friday we will be having a fire. Our holiday also will be a little more festive as well.

Finally Scrapbook Pages!!

Sorry fuzzy. My scanner will not scan 12x12, so I have to take a picture of it, with my digital. This is a page of my husband, Jason, and me on our Wedding Day.

May 19, 2000

Our honeymoon was a trip Up North. I put a sticker at every locations we made a stop. Though with the fuzziness it is hard to see. It was such a good trip. I wish many times Jason and I can do it again.

Our first stop was at Lamplighter Inn in Ludington. It is a beautiful bed and breakfast. The food was so good. This is one of my favorite pages. I included my photos and mementos from the Lamplighter Inn. Some people say the page is busy. Sometimes I have fun doing busy pages.
Tomorrow, a new chimney cleaning company is coming to look at our chimney. I told him about Chimney Cricket and he said the same thing that the other company we had come out, Chimney Cricket is a bad company. The new guy said that he thinks our chimney might just need a good cleaning and not a deglazing. Of course, I didn't tell him that we had another company come out before him to give a quote. Lets hope he gives our family good news. We can not afford to rebuild our chimney.

My Babies

This photo was taken on Easter 2007. Even though it is not recent and the youngest one is older now, it is one of my favorites.
Now Lindsey is almost 8
Adela is 2
Michaela is 4

Having Fun

Well I am slowly understanding how to set up my blog. Who knew I was so computer illiterate. I am excited though with each new thing I add to my blog. I have decided I will go with taking pictures of my scrapbook pages. Maybe the fuzziness will not be so bad.

Beware Of Chimney Cricket

Since 2004 we had this company clean our chimney. Yet when we had soot build up that is now glazing, they were supposed to come in last week to clean it up. They were a no show two days in a row. They never called back. Today another company came out to give us an estimate. Basically, Chimney Cricket, never cleaned the chimney properly, they allowed the buildup to happen, and we were notified that the company has lawsuits against them for exactly are problem. We are screwed. It is expensive to fix. Basically they would need to rebuild our chimney. We can't have fires now til probably spring, because we cannot afford to fix the chimney. No fires around the holidays! We are stuck!

Also, I cannot put my scrapbook pages on the computer because my scanner only scans 8x10. All my scrapbooks are 12x12. I tried taking a picture of them and that does not look good either, the picture looks a little fuzzy.

Though there is an up note: Through my childrens family dentist, I won 100 dollar gas card. For a few minutes, I was felling good. Until I called my husband and we discussed our chimney problem.

Not Getting It Right

What a day. First I can't find my blog on the web. Feels like I should change the name of it. Second, did not win lotto. Not even 5 dollars.

Trying to figure the ways of blogging. Not doing a very good job.
