The First Week Of School

Well the first day of school wasn't so bad. Lindsey complained as usual. Michaela was excited but nervous. She was clingy. Adela was upset that Michaela was no longer going to be home and that she wasn't going to school.

Adela wanted to be just like her sisters. She had to use a backpack.

Adela was so happy that she got to sit down next to her sister...until I pulled her away.

The second day was not so smooth. Michaela didn't want to go to school. I pushed her in and she would come right out. I had to help her hang up her backpack and pushed her farther in the room. Finally an aide came an kind of ushered her in the room. She looked so sad. The teacher called me during lunch and told me she was fine. She had to give her a little love and then they were able to get down to business.

Each day is getting easier.

It takes time and it will get better bit by bit, but I'm glad that the teacher called you at lunchtime. How sweet and reassuring that was!

I think children are usually liked that during the first week of school, just give her some time to adjust and she will fine soon.

Each day will get easier. Dakota had a day like that last Friday. It was horrible I had to carry him into school.

I know just how Adela is feeling! Madelyn is quite lost without her big sister!

I remember my first born's first day of school. I was more nervous than he was. We did the open house and everything, so he knew what was what.

Now he's in high school, and he's still convinced he knows what is what, even when he doesn't.

Aw, little sweeties! I hope they get used to their new routine. They sure are precious! How nice that the teacher called you. I remember worrying so over my oldest when he started preschool. After the first day he told me he was sad the whole time...because he was worried about me! After I told him I'd miss him, but I would be ok, he was fine. Aren't they sweet?! ;D
