Scrapbook Sunday: More Lindsey & Having Fun With Sepia

Also, Anissa over at Our Chaotic Life has inspired me to see if I can turn my photos into sepia tone. It took me fifty years to figure it out, but I Can!!

I took these last week. It is Adela's tootsies in her baby fake Birkenstocks. I love baby tootsies:)

Here it is in the sepia tone. I just love the look of sepia.

Yeah, my idea of having fun...playing on the computer:)

Shan's Weekend Wordle

It is Saturday and it is time for Shan's Weekend Wordles! Since Jeannie told me how to do this it is become a cynch to do:)

If you want to do a wordle go to www.wordle.net and after you design it like you want (you can't do a save as because the webiste is protected) push print screen on your keyboard, then your paint shop and when that pops up, click edit on top of your screen and click paste. Then you have to grab the area you want to save, then you right click and click copy to. There you go!! Then go to Shan's blog and do the Mr. Linky thing. Come on ...it is fun:)

This week is similar to last week's wordle. I only posted twice this past week.

Noelle's Card Swap and Blog Blah

I had participated in a Mother's Day card swap a few weeks ago with Noelle of Lil' Bits and Pieces Of Me.

Here is the card I made for her to give to someone. I didn't have a Mother's Day stamp so I had to improvise.

This is the STUFF that Noelle got me. The card she sent me has bling on it! I also got some stickers and a Post-it note pack in my favorite color purple! Thanks again Noelle!

Have you gals noticed that since it is getting warmer out, you are not blogging as much? My kids want to go outside all the time. They were out all Memorial Day weekend! It also didn't help that my Husband has been hogging the computer. He has been putting movies on his Ipod. It is like a whole day process. Of course he keeps just adding more without saying "Hey Vickie, you need the computer?" He actually had the nerve to tell me on Sunday what I could be doing!! Men...pft! There were times I was walking around the house, wringing my hands. Is that withdrawl:) Thank goodness I had my phone so I could text to my twitter acount and complain. he he.

Happy Anniversary, Jason!! Thank you for giving me 9 happy years! Today is our anniversary and since it is also Take Me Back Tuesday over at Kari's at A Giveaway Addicted Mommy, I thought what a perfect time to post our wedding picture.

May 19, 2000

I was also 2 months pregnant. No, it was not a shot gun wedding. He had proposed to me on August 14, 1999. The day was already planned when I decided I didn't want to be in my thirties and having my first baby. I was 29. The scary thing was we though we might lose her. I had been spotting and on this day, I was still spotting. Lindsey still came out fine and I was still 29:)

p.s. I miss being a size 10.

Yeah, I Haven't Been Around

I haven't been around too much this past week. I have been sick for most of the week. I thought I was getting better than Thursday night Wham!...all the gunky stuff wanted out of my system and I felt like crap again. Saturday I was cleaning all day to get ready for Lindsey's First Holy Communion party. Today was her day! I am still kind of sick, but I hope to start feeling better tomorrow.

I plan on getting busy blogging tomorrow...my comment challenge is very low:)

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend:) Next week is Memorial Day weekend! Sleeping in, the parade and chillin' with family.
Gotta go and take my medicine. I am coughing up a storm here! It hurts my head:)

One of my bloggy friends, Ally, just found out her mother has a brain tumor. She will be having surgery to remove it. She needs prayers.

Recipe Swap Monday: Sweet-n-Sour Chicken

This is up a little late. I haven't been feeling well since this weekend. I think I caught the virus that has been living in my kids and Jason:)

Anyhoo, Recipe Swap Monday is brought to by Anissa of Our Chaotic Life.

Sweet-n-Sour Chicken (I am making this right now for dinner)

2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces.
(1) 8 1/4-ounce can crushed pineapple in unsweetened pineapple juice
1/4 cup of apricot preserves
1/4 cup of Hoisin sauce
1/4 teaspoon of ground pepper.

1. Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until no longer pink.
2. Add pineapple, apricot preserves, Hoisin sauce, and pepper and simmer until sauce thickens. I like my sauce a tad juicey.

On the side I usually cook some white rice. And then I just mix the two up on my plate. Click the button for more yummalicious recipes.

Dear Food and Exercise,

I would really appreciate food, if you were only healthy. I also would like it, if you would stop jumping into my mouth at every turn. I wish all you trans fat and high fructose corn syrup would just not come into my house. Just stay out of the shopping cart. Fruits and vegetables please just kick their butts. Exercise, why can't you just come to my bed and literally pull me out of my cozy bed. In the morning is best because my kids are sleeping. Pinch me, keep bugging me until I wake up. Show me a picture of the current me. Tell me how my face is melting into my neck and no one can tell start to finish. Just Do It! Thanks.

It was October 9, 2004. Michaela was 8 days old. I had gone to the store and my sister was watching my kids. Though the older kid who is holding Michaela is not mine that is Jacqueline, my sister's kid. My oldest child is the one with the humongous smile. She is Lindsey, she wasn't quite 4 yet. I love this photo. Lindsey is so happy.
