Blog Blah

I am so irritated with computer geeks who think it is funny to send viruses through the internet. Last week Tuesday, I was playing on Photobucket and my computer told me that I had a bad file. Well, for the next couple of days we were dealing with the computer. On Friday, I think we got rid of the problems. But the idiot left the damage. We now have popups. If I put settings to stop all popups, then I cannot blog and I cannot open any email. So I have to keep the settings for some popups.

My computer just isn't the same any more. I am also afraid to go back to photobucket, though I miss going to the site.

If you read my weight lost blog, then you know that is not going well.

I just want to slap myself. I am in a funk and things could be worse.

I have awards to posts and I will get to those wonderful things.

That really stinks! I am so sorry you are dealing with issues! I wonder why photobucket would be giving you a hard time, isn't it the type of site where you upload your own photos? I hope you can get everything fixed soon, cause it's weird not "seeing" you everyday!

PS: Are you doing that whole day scrapbooking event you told me about?

PS 2: My weight loss program isn't going very well either. Too bad we don't live just a little bit closer or we could be workout buddies!

I'm sorry you've had these problems. Computer viruses and such are no fun!!

Yeah...last week...I gained 4lbs!! UGH!! But, that's ok...I lost three so far this week! We've started a weight loss challenge at work, so I've got to make sure I get in gear with this.

I hope you get out of your funk soon!

Computer viruses suck!!! If you need my husband to check it out for you just let me know. He's a pro and getting those things off once and for all. He had a program where he can log onto your computer from ours and take care of the problem.

Hugs,
t

Hi Vickie, this is my first time here & I'm visiting from SITS :o)

Your computer doesn't have a virus, it's infected with malware/spyware. I agree that it's a nuisance, but it's easy to protect yourself for free against 99.9% of the junk that's out there, which will save you a lot of time and grief. I could be wrong, but my guess is that you're not any using up-to-date virus protection program or that, if you are, you aren't getting the updates automatically.

Here are the very effective programs I use, and all are FREE and safe to install.

AVG Anti Virus -- http://free.avg.com
When installing, set this up to automatically download the daily updates and to scan your computer automatically once a day

Spybot -- http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html

AdAware -- http://www.lavasoft.com/?domain=adaware.us

AdAware and Spybot should be downloaded and run to check your system, and then they should be run at least once a week, plus any other time you start having computer problems. Be sure to set them up to get the free updates automatically.

For additional information on keeping your computer safe and secure, visit www.pconline.com (the website of PC Magazine), www.zd.net (one of the best computer info sites ever), and www.symantec.com (Norton Anti Virus software ... with lots of free information about current viruses and how to remove them manually).

Happy Computing!
