The Wonders Of Winter

School was canceled today!! Woo hoo!! But I still have to go to work tonight. Hopefully the roads will be cleared by then. As I am typing this, the plow trucks are on our streets shoving snow up our driveway. I should go out there and shovel that mess up;)
Here is the current sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. I had fun with this sketch.
I sprinkled white paint on the background. Unfortunately the pictures are dark. This was before I had my digi camera. The title is a sticker that reads The Wonders Of Winter. Lindsey was introducing Michaela to the snow. She was and is so happy to have a sister:)

AHHHH! Work just called me and said I didn't have to go in today because of the snow! Yeah!!

Thanks for looking at my layout:)

My Little Spartan

I was so hoping for a freak snow storm today so I didn't have to wake up and get the kids ready for school today. Didn't happen. Oh well. Shows me right. I shouldn't have stayed up to 3 in the morning!!

Here is a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
This is what I did with the sketch. I have pictures of all the girls in this Michigan State outfit. I gave away a bunch of our baby clothes but this is one of the items I kept. You never know..there might be a maybe. Jason says no, but you never know!! Actually there are just some things I couldn't part with. So this is Michaela, January of 2005.

Lindsey is a fan of the University of Michigan so she shrieks when she sees her pictures of herself in this outfit. The only reason why she likes that school is because the mascot is an animal, wolverine. She is just crazy about animals. I tell her Mommy's school's mascot is a WARRIOR. But since it is not an animal she wants nothing to do with it. Of course if she wants to have a career with animals she has to deal with MSU. My school is known for its agricultural work. So, in the words of Queenie Jeannie....nanner nanner!!

Thanks for looking a my layout:)

That's Right, She's My Sister

Last night I worked on a sketch. I thought I wasn't going to because today I start my new job. Since this past Sunday I have been anxious. If I tried not thinking about it, I felt okay. So I thought it will keep me busy. It worked for that bit:)

Here is the current sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays.
Here is what I came up with last night. Lindsey loved holding her little sister. She was always asking me to hold her. Of course the camera cord got in the way:p

Thanks for looking at my layout:)

New Years 2005 and Job News

Here is a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
Here is my take on the sketch. This page looks a lot nicer in person. The middle embellie is supposed to be darker but because the sticker is kind of glossy there is a glare. I had written the names of the people and the year. Jason likes it but that is because brown is his favorite color and the picture is of his Dzia Dzia. Who would pass away five months from when this picture was taken.

It was New Years 2005. Lindsey was 4, Michaela was 3 months and the other girl is Karrigan, who is the girl's cousin. Jason's Dzia Dzia and Grandma are also in the picture.

As some of you may already know...I got the job and I start next week Wednesday. I am really trying to feel good about it. The place seems relax and easy going. I can even wear sweatpants if I want!! Whoa!!

Thanks for all the good lucks and wishes:)

Christmas Eve and Job News

Here is a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. One of my favorite challenge blogs. I am trying to do every one of their sketches along with Sketch Inspiration.
Here is my take on the sketch. I was gonna use my kids Crayola spray paint maker but it is the mess free kind where you use that special paper. So I couldn't get a spray paint effect. Instead, I used a snowlike embossing powder in that area. I hope you can see it.

I mentioned this on twitter..I have a job interview this Thursday. It is a part time retail job at a scrapping store. The store is one of my favorites. I just have all these different feelings. We can use the extra money that I may be bringing in, but I feel anxious, nervous and a little sad. I have been a SAHM for nine years. Parts of me don't want to go back to work. I would have to go back to work in a year and a half anyway because Adela will be in kindergarten. The hours would work for us. Nights and weekends. In a way, I feel it is the universes way of telling me take this one now because I may not get another chance.

Thanks for looking at my layout:)

Another Christmas Layout

Here is a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
Here is my take on that sketch. Still working on Christmas 2004 when Michaela was a baby. On Christmas we go to Jason's parents house. Since there is quite a lot of people it takes all day to open gifts. These shots were taken when we were taking a break. We usually have dinner during this break. So we were waiting for it to be prepared.

Thanks for looking at my layout:)

I hope the New Year is working out for people. The Les house is a little sluggish. It has become a petri dish again. This time it is my turn:p

Winter Wishes and Yay Snow!

Before I show the card I finished, I wanted to show you something. As some of you know I have been complaining because I hadn't gotten any snow. Well...yesterday we got an inch or two. See...See the flakes were still falling yesterday afternoon!

Yes. I am happy:) On to the card.
Here is a sketch challenge from Sketchy Thursdays.
Here is my take on the sketch.

I am also using it for a challenge over at Verve Stamps. The challenge is to use the digital mitten stamp set which you can download for free!! You know me...free is good!

Thanks for looking at my card:)

I Am Trying Out

Okay. I am kind of stepping out of the box. This is the first time I am entering a Design Team challenge. I am a little nervous. My work is usually a little simple. But, I thought I should still give it a go:)
Here is the Design Team for January challenge sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays.
Here is my take on that sketch. We were also to use three different patterned paper from different paper packs. Also use three different embellishments in groups of three.

Papers are from

  • Stampin' Up!
  • Big Packs
  • Creative Memories

The Three Embellishments were

  • Black Pearl Stickers
  • Ribbon
  • Buttons

It was when Michaela was about 2 1/2 months old and her cousins were lavishing her with all this attention. The first picture she looks a little nervous. The second picture she has this, "Yup. I'm awesome" look and the last picture looks like the cousins are saying, "Mom. We want another baby."

Thanks for looking at my layout:)

Hush Little Baby

Here is Sketchy Thursday's current sketch.
Here is my take on it. It is really simple. But the picture is the most important part! It is Lindsey when she was just about a year. Don't ya just love it when babies sleep with their butt in the air!!?? For the journaling I used the first verse of "Hush Little Baby".

Thanks for looking at my layout:)

She Is Rolling Over!

Here is a sketch challenge by Sketchy Thursdays.
Here is my take on that sketch. It is of Michaela and my sister, Elaine, who was watching her for me. I had to take Lindsey to the doctors. She had some kind of eye infection. Nope, it was not pink eye;) Elaine had gotten so excited she just started taking pictures of the baby. I swear she is trying to roll over!!

Thanks for looking at my layout:)

HO HO HO!

This is a challenge at Sketchy Thursdays using this sketch. The coveted prize...Copics markers. I hear so many good things about these markers. The challenge is actually done tonight, so I just got done with the card. I know...nothing like waiting til the last minute:)

I would have finished the card yesterday, but I was such a mess. On Monday I had hurt my back. So yesterday I was dealing with that AND.....then my head started hurting, my joints started hurting and I swear my throat was closing up on me!! I was thinking H1N1 or meningitis!! When I start to get anxious I start to think of all sorts of bad stuff.

Well...I am okay. Not gonna die. Just my back hurts now.

Thanks for looking at my card and listening to my craziness:)

Thanksgiving 2004 Layout

Here is a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
Here is my take on that sketch. It was Thanksgiving 2004. This was when Michaela was just a month and a half, Lindsey was just under 4 years and their cousin Karrigan.

I am using it for a sketch challenge over at Sketchy Thursday.

I am also using it for a challenge over at Use Your Stash. We were to use fall colors in our layout.

Thanks for looking at my layout:)
