Father's Day Layout and Thanksgiving Review
Here we are at my Sister's for Thanksgiving. Adela is by herself on the photo on the left. Michaela and Lindsey are on the right with Jacqueline, their cousin, in the middle. We also went to Jason's family's house on Friday for Thanksgiving. Which was nice because we were not running all over the place and stuffing ourselves silly. Also, two days in a row we had free dinners. I never turn down a free meal.
Here are the kids for Thanksgiving Friday.
We enjoyed both days. Michaela did not want to leave Grandma's house. She was having such a good time.
Here is the last picture of layouts I took on a gloomy day. From now on, it will always be natural light. This was Father's Day. My husband's family had come over and helped us celebrate. Two of the photos were mounted on brown paper. One had a cutout around it. I had a desk calendar, that had a scrapbooking theme. Once you are done with the day, you can use the design in your page. Which is where the brown and yellow diamond cutout was from. Since I really had no pictures of Lindsey and Daddy together on that day, I used another photo from another day. I cut the two of them out and had it hanging from a photo. I had stamped the title with versamark ink, them chalk the area with brown chalk. I also used a floral stamp and did the same. I got all three items from Stampin Up!Friday, November 28, 2008

Happy Thanksgiving!

This afternoon , the kids and I made papertowel roll turkeys. I got the idea from Sandy over at Just For Fun. Thanks Sandy, the kids had fun decorating their turkeys. That will be our centerpiece at the Thanksgiving Breakfast table. Jason, my husband, and I since we got married have made a big breakfast for Thanksgiving morning. The kids love it and look forward to the holiday. I will make a batch of pancakes, biscuits and Jason will grill regular bacon on the George Forman Grill. I will also make myself a fried egg and a slice of Canadian bacon with cheese on my biscuit. I call it a Canadian Sunrise. What traditions do you enjoy every year?
Again, Happy Thanksgiving!

Lindsey Visiting Grandparants Layout
This whole layout was done with Stampin Up! products. I used their scrapbooking set. But I can't remember the name of the set. I had ripped down the side of the more lighter paper, so I could have that little bit of white showing. Put the photos that I had mounted on white paper on the ripped paper. On the darker side, I used the already made tags. On the top of the tags I used the Stampin Up! natural buttons, with brown yarn floss. The tags was were I did my journaling. On the two right corners, I used sticker corners. We were at a birthday party and she was sitting next to her 3 week older cousin. Doesn't she look like she is being squished.
I used my favorite template with this layout. Lindsey was hanging with her grandparents. The title is Cute As A Button. On the right side of the title is a sticker that says the same thing. I mounted that on printed paper. Then on each side of the whole title I put pink buttons. On the bottom of the page I used circle cutouts, put two eyelets in the middle and tied yarn floss. I was trying to make buttons. I hope you can tell.I am so into buttons. Every summer when we go up to the in-law's cottage, we go to a local pharmacy/Ben Franklin store and I go right to their box of buttons. They sell 5 batches for a dollar. I think of all the pictures I have taken and start rummaging through the box. I am in heaven.
This layout is about visiting Grandma and Grandpa. I had mounted the journaling on blue paper. I left enough room on top and bottom so I can put eyelets and yellow yarn floss. I put a photo behind a cutout and mounted it on yellow and blue paper. Then mounted the other two photos with yellow paper. On the left side I used precut printed paper and measured and cut the yellow paper and arranged on the layout.Sometimes it takes me a half hour to an hour to think up a simple idea, but once it is in my head, it takes only 10 to 15 minutes to do the layout. If I can't think of anything, I go to my magazines or books.

Lindsey's Baptism Layout IV And Others
Regarding the scrapbook pictures, they are still from the last patch of pictures I took on a gloomy day. So, I am sorry for the blurry look. I am going to make sure, I always take those pictures on a sunny day, so I may use the natural light.
This layout is Lindsey's 6 month photo. I had cut the picture in an oval, with a Creative Memories oval cutter. Then I punch a bunch of daisy shapes with yellow paper. I used my punch from Stampin' Up! Then on the ends of the flowers, I used a orangish color chalk. My chalk set is from Stampin' Up! Then with a regular hole pucher, I punch a bunch of brown little circles, which I then glued on the flowers. For the photo, I would lay the flower on top of each other like a domino effect. This layout took a couple of days to finish, but I thought it was worth it.
This is a layout of Lindsey just lounging around, with the dog and her Daddy. I mounted the photos with blue paper. I also had a cut-out with bears and such. The blue square is a punch out with a heart sticker on the square. The punch out came from Stampin' Up!
Here is the layout celebrating the Baptism. We had the party in our basement. I just mounted the pictures. The cake picture and the title is mounted also with a pattern paper. Reminded me of stained glass. I then used a couple of square punches from Creative Memories with the same pattern paper. Then on some of the squares, I put some buttons. Saturday, November 22, 2008
My Dad

I like to think he is up there with my little baby May, helping to take care of her for me. I had miscarried my baby and I swear that night, I thought I saw him in my hallway, but it was my husband walking in the hallway getting ready for work. But, I still think it was him, telling me, he is taking care of her. He died of lung cancer. Smoking, a terrible habit he started when he was 13 years old. I was 19 when he died. He was admitted to the hospital on March 19, 1990, my birthday for chest pains. He had a blocked artery to his heart, He needed heart by pass surgury. But before they did that, the doctors found a spot on his chest xray. It was cancer. He died 9 months later, November 22, 1990. That day happened to be Thanksgiving Day. I was in college when the cancer has spread to his liver. Mom picked me up for Thanksgiving vacations and said, "Do you have anything black to wear? Daddy is dying. " I wanted to cry, but I couldn't because my Mom' s lips were quirvering. When I got to the hospital, he was already ina semi coma and probably did not know I was there in the room. My Mom told him and his eyes open for a second. Never saw them open again. Wow, Another Award

JCVD
Okay, alot of people have been posting about Twilight. So, I am going to post about the movie I am looking forward to seeing. It is "JCVD". Now, I am not a fan of Jean-Claude Vandame, but his movie "Timecop", was the first movie my husband, then boyfriend saw after we got back together after a short separation. So, it has sentimental value to us. I also hear that "JCVD" is receiving good reviews. I probably will not go to the theater to see it, but wait until it is on cable.
I hope you enjoy the trailer:)

Lindsey's Baptism Layout III
In person this layout is so cute. This is my niece and Godchild, Jacqueline Marie. I mounted the photo. Then I trim the paper around the photo with the antique trim scissors. Then I put that on top of pattern paper with pink flower petals. On the side I ink a stamp with versamark ink stamped it on the side and then I chalked the side with pinkish-rose chalk. So simple, it took me about 10 minutes to do this page.
This layout is titled Daddy's Little Angel. The backgound paper is embossed with flowers. I had chalked the angel diecut around the edges. Used stickers on my title and mounted the photos. Though the background paper must have had a special coating, because my mounted photos keep falling off. There is about 3 types of glue holding those suckers.
The day I took the picture of the scrapbook pages it was gloomy outside, so I have glare on my page protector from my lamp. This is the actual baptism. I mounted the photos. I had the baby photo crop to a star. I used white flowers stickers. The bottom is a punchout diecut. My journaling mentions that while the priest was baptising Lindsey, she did not say a word. She looked at us with content. Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Lindsey's Baptism Layout II
The church ceremony layout. Pretty much like the last layout but the title also has two eyelets at the ends. I love using eyelets. The ceremony took place the same day as Easter. It was crowded in church.
This is the posing with Lindsey in her dress layout. The background is from Joann Etc. Spring Paper Pack. I love it. I also have the Fall Pack as well. I just did mounting and stickers and rounded the pictures. I love my rounder. I got mine from Creative Memories. I love that company just as much as Stampin' up.
Sorry about the page being blurry. This layout is Lindsey's Godmother dressing Lindsey in her baptism gown. My Mother-in-law said that is baptism tradition. The Godmother dresses the baby in her gown. I cropped the photos and rounded them so they could all fit on one page. I put baptism stickers on the page. The page was easy and in person it looks very nice. I am bummed I do not have a big enough scanner. Sunday, November 16, 2008
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!
Oh my gosh!! It is snowing and it is sticking to the ground. It was such a good feeling. I felt so festive, that I made Christmas cookies. Okay it was Pillsbury and all I had to do was stick them on the baking sheet. But it gave the house such a nice vanilla scent. Hope you all are feeling jolly! The Lost Baptism Layout
Found the other picture my camera so wrongly deposited in a different folder. I used the lacey sticker again and I used babtism stickers as well. I love the stickers, they make the page for me. The black background makes everything POP.Sorry for the poopy mood yesterday. Today is a better day, even though it is Sunday. Oh, I stayed up way to late yesterday. I did not go to bed until 3:00 this morning. I had pop way to late and I was a little hyped after watching Sex in the City Movie. So I thought I try to get into the top ten comments on SITS. Well, they were not up at that time.
p.s. If I do spellcheck, my signature goes into it's HTML stage. So I try to reread my work before I publish .

Lindsey's Baptism Layout And An Icky Day
Geez!! I am having issues with my camera. I took four pictures of my scrapbook and only one came out looking decent. That is so aggravating. So I only have one page to show. My printer is also giving me problems. Ever since I turned and unplugged the printer to save money on our electric bill, printer told me I had to install the device again. So I stop doing that and I don't even touch the plug. Yet it still tells me that anytime I want to save my photos from my camera. Isn't that just wonderful.Okay now about the page. This is Lindsey's Baptism layout. I used pattern vellum and the colored vellum all through out the page. The pictures are black and white. I think the page is cool with the black and white photos, with the flowers the only thing of color. The top of the page is a lace sticker.
Today was not a good day. I know there are worst thing out there and people have it worse than I do, but today could have been a better day. I went grocery shopping in the rain, which hasn't stopped. When I got home my kids all were in bad moods. Picking on each other and walking up and down the stairs constantly. The two year old kept whining about everything. It wasn't even quiet when she took a nap. Her favorite show, Pingu, wasn't keeping her happy. Bedtime in 10 minutes.
Let's hope tomorrow is a better day, kids, camera and all.
